Our art historians will guide you through the current exhibitions and give you exciting background information on the artists and their works. Museum Haus Konstruktiv opens the exhibition year 2023 with two solo exhibitions on Leon Polk Smith (1906–1996) and Athene Galiciadis.
The retrospective on Leon Polk Smith is Europe’s first institutional solo exhibition on this artist in about 20 years – and the first ever in a Swiss museum. On four floors, it brings together works from almost all his periods, from the mid-1940s to the late 1980s, and presents them in largely chronological order.
The solo exhibition of Athene Galiciadis (b. 1978 in Altstätten, lives and works in Zurich) is the first to ever be held in a Zurich museum. Large-format paintings, painted sculptures, light objects and temporary dwelling structures can be seen – interwoven on site as an enthralling all-encompassing installation.
