One of the centerpieces of the Museum Haus Konstruktiv’s collection is Fritz Glarner’s “Rockefeller Dining Room” (1963/64). Created for Nelson A. Rockefeller’s New York City apartment, the dining room is a unique example of constructivist-concrete interior design and the only comprehensive spatial installation that Glarner ever realized. Based on his concept of “Relational Painting,” he designed the space as a walk-in painting in which colors and geometric shapes merge into a harmonious whole. Since 2016, furnishings designed by Alfredo Häberli have complemented the space, allowing it to be experienced once again as a dining room.
