The Museum für Gestaltung Zürich is the leading Swiss museum for design and visual communication. The museum reaches a broad national and international audience, at its two sites in the city of Zurich (Ausstellungsstrasse and Toni-Areal) and through its touring exhibitions.
Every year, five to seven exhibitions engage with current themes and issues from the various design genres shaping everyday visual life. Its internationally acclaimed collection comprises over half a million objects from the history of design and graphics.
At its annex in the Toni-Areal, located in the heart of buzzing Zurich West, the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich presents several temporary exhibitions a year. Shows build a bridge to Zurich University of the Arts, feature experimental projects, and take position in current design debates. The Toni-Areal also houses the museum’s collection, which can be visited on guided tours.
