This conversation between artists Renée Green and Ima-Abasi Okon provides insights into the artistic practice and gives background information to the exhibition Renée Green. Inevitable Distances. Okon and Green share an interest in exploring language in all its facets. Among other activities, their research and practice trace language’s implicit and explicit potentials to establish and sustain asymmetrical power relations, construct, and distribute knowledge, but also to abstract, classify, complicate, elucidate and (de)valorise the human condition.
The Artist Talk takes place in the context of the symposium Inevitable Distancesin connection with the exhibition Renée Green.
