The Civil Defence Museum is lodged in a circular bunker built in 1941 under Landenberg Park in the area of Zurich-Wipkingen. The facility was constructed as a secure medical station for the population and as a barracks for military personnel.

An extensive collection about the history and technology of civil defence is housed in the 1,500m2 bunker, from the early days of air protection to today's modern civil defence technologies. Photos, historic signs and videos serve as reminders of the bombing of Switzerland, particularly of Zurich.
The Civil Defence Museum documents Switzerland’s troubling situation during World War II, the efforts to protect its population, as well as the emergence and development of a national civil defence. This, the only museum of civil defence in Switzerland, brings this fascinating history to life.
