NEWKAMMER II: Present Positions transforms the former studio of the Righini-Fries family of artists into a creative laboratory and experimental space for emerging artists. Participants of the What’s Next_Compass programme of Z-Kubator at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) present works that reflect key aspects of their current artistic practice.
Following its inaugural edition in 2024, the exhibition format NewKammer (a play on the words Wunderkammer (cabinet of curiosities) and newcomer) invites visitors on a new journey of discovery through different forms of artistic expression.
Guest curator Itay Blaish brings together the artists’ various approaches, materials and working methods in a dense exhibition in which each position stands on its own, while surprising connections and meanings emerge between the works.
